Here's a 15 min audio clip of a segment from Radio Roxanne's
6th monthly Edition, the show titled "Homegrown Harvest."
This piece maps the intersection of people and the planet by exploring
how sight and sound define place. It's inspired by a strange storm
that rocked planet Buffalo just a little over a month ago, in
early October. One might think that, in a fast-paced life, events
that occur a month ago would be over, but for me, it's still cause
for reflection. As you'll hear, I'm not the only one...
The segment starts with a conversation Radio Roxanne had with
urban ecologist Jay Burney in which Jay talks about the poetry
and power of trees, then he reads a poem... After that we map
the "arbor-storm" to a mix of voice and music, by walking
through our city in the spirit of Rainer Maria Rilke's "All
beauty is the beginning of terror", and in the company of
Antoine de Ste Exupery's __The Little Prince__ inquiring about
"the state of the flowers."
The segment ends with our "Planet Rox-n-Rolls" feature-
an option to take action if you are moved by the stories...
Thanks for taking the time to listen! Remember this piece is a
segment of the show that will air on Sunday, the 19th of November,
at 10am!"
